VFW Ohio Charities is sad to learn of the passing of our past Executive Director, "Bill" Seagraves. He was loved by and will be missed by many. Our deepest and sincerest condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

"SEAGRAVES, William K.
"Bill” age 85, of Canal Winchester, OH, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021
at Mt. Carmel Grove City Hospital. Bill was born May 7, 1935 in Kayford,
West Virginia, son of the late Willie C. & Pearl (Clere) Seagraves.
Bill was a retired employee of General Motors – Inland Division, and proudly
served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corp. Following
his active duty, Bill continued to serve by helping countless veterans through
local, state and national Veterans of Foreign War efforts. His dedication
to serving veterans led him through the VFW ranks as he held numerous positions
including Past Commander of VFW Post #9582, Past State Commander, Quartermaster
and State Service Director. Bill worked tirelessly to see that the needs
of veterans were properly addressed.
Preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mickey Allen Sr., and one brother,
Curt Seagraves, Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Joanne (George)
Seagraves; sons, William "Bill” Seagraves, Jr (Karen), John "Andy” Seagraves
(Stephanie); step-son, Daniel George; 9 grandchildren, Gretchen, Josh, PJ,
Mickey Allen Jr., Brandon, Andrea, Aubrey, Zach, & Kayla; numerous
great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Hogan (Scott); brother, John Seagraves
(Gloria); along with a host of extended family members and wonderful
friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 27, at First Light
Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Mr. John Seagraves officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at First Light Church on Saturday from 10:00 am
until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to
Band of Brothers, c/o George Medary, 6648 Lakeview Circle, Canal Winchester, OH
43110 in Bill’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone

The Bar and Restaurant Assistance Fund is designed to assist Ohio’s on-premise liquor permit holders.
This $38.7 million fund will help more than 15,400 licensees significantly impacted by COVID-19 and
